Looks correct. People assume the numbers would be preceded by 0's but it isn't the case. As to increasing the value, it does to some degree, over another rifle in similar condition.
It likely means seller has never seen one before. Since Mr Farb says it is correct run don't walk. Of course this depends on the price, matching parts, and condition. If the rest of the rifle looks like the pic it should make a nice addition.good point ....
its on armslist close to my house and its got me thinking .... I believe the ad said it was the only serial number 1 K98 known to exists or something to that effect. Not sure what that even means
He already said it's a total mismatch on another forum, so don't expect much. I wouldn't pay more than $500 for an RC, to me that's even top dollar. There are other serial 1 rifles reported though.
