I recently picked up a large ammo can full of knives and I've been going through them one by one researching them all the best I can so that I can just know how much they're worth. If anyone could help price this puppy, that'd be great. I'm not sure if I'm looking to sell yet or not.

looks like a very nice win, the frog is probably austrian or CS used on this piece. b.r.Andy

Thanks, Andy, how are you able to tell the country of origin of the frog? I'd just like to verify that to be 100% certain.

Great !!!

Thanks for sharing it !, an great piece from an desirable code, for sure you will sell it for many money !

The difference between the austrian M1908 and czechoslovak Vz.23/4 frog is minimal, as the czechoslovak frog was a copy of austrian, there should be by CS some backside stamps, like units or CS lion and numbers. The frog front pouch hole is here triangular,so destined for a flat hook on M95/Vz.24 scabbards, S84/98 have a cylindrical part of hook on scabbard, the hole should be oval, from this are the dents on the leather above the hole. So i assume the frog was long time on the piece, but it could be done postwar too.br.Andy

As already stated this is a very nice late-war bayonet from a desirable maker. The maker is Berg & Companie a firm which began 1944 using the agv code until changing to pyy late in the Fall of that year. In order to accurately estimate the value additional photographs and other information is needed. Perhaps most importantly, does the scabbard have matching serial number and maker's code to the bayonet? Has the blade been sharpened or is there any damage to the tip? Same with the grip scales, some scratching is noted, what is their overall condition? Is there any corrosion or pitting to the metal surfaces? Additional photographs would be very helpful ......

From the owner

Sorry it's been a while since I've been on. I am now extremely interested in selling this piece, many people have been offering me the average $60-$100 but I've been turning them down because I believe that it's worth much more. The scabbard 100% matches the bayonet and it seems to be in extremely decent shape compared to most of them that I've seen.

Better Images

I'm sorry about the picture size before, I was trying a new way of transferring pictures from my phone to my laptop. It was much faster but it didn't work out. Here are some that are larger.

Looks mint to me. Use your best judgment from the auction, but to me I'd guess based on that auction that what you have is worth at a minimum $400-500? If you want to be generous then you adjust your price from there.

And if it were me I'd disqualify the people that offered you $60-100 for it on principle.

Agreed, especially on that last part.

The piece looks like a depot condition, or very minimum used. The prices are certainly higher as offered, it depends on country and economical situation of the collector and seller too.b.r.Andy
