K98k rework help

Hi guys, I'm looking for some additional information and opinions on a reworked k98k that I have been looking at for the past several days. It's a 1939 Steyr 660 coded rifle, that at first glance appears to have gone through a depot rebuild at some point with it's barrel being replaced. What concerns me is some of the other parts were replaced as well and I am wondering if this is a wartime job or if bubba did this at some later point. I have been looking for both a 660 coded rifle and a wartime depot rebuild example for a while now and It would be cool to have both in one rifle. What really concerns me is the stock (reminds me of the sanded down Norwegian capture ones) and the serial numbers on the floorplate, buttplate, and bolt parts. The fonts seem a bit funky to me. I was wondering if this is a result of a depot reusing parts or bubba attempting to fake a matching gun. My gut is telling me this is a job done by bubba, however I am still new to researching depot guns so I can't say for sure so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think you are justified in your concern, but honestly these are not enough pictures to make a decision. Reworks can only be judged upon a large number of pictures, mostly ones of the stock. One would have to see many more pictures of the stock, but i do not like the serial fonts either (stock), try to do more of them if you have them, if you haven't bought it and these are the only pictures, i would not buy it or at least pay as little as you can get by with if you must have it.

Such rifles are the most dangerous rifles to buy, they are easy to do and many use this method to "match" up a m/m rifle.
