KS98 - bayonet with unknown aluminium handles

A ks98, made in 1912 by erfurt, i would assume chromed post war by a collector , but im intrigued by the aluminium handles

my first thought would be post war replacements , yet they are perfect fits and share the same "1" found on all other parts of the bayonet

1912 was the first year that erfurt experimented with wood handles and rubber handles specifically for the colonial office , but i dont see any documentation for other handle materials

i look forward to comments and debates as to what / when these were possibly added

Evidently the grips were done with high workmanship, anyway there is no proof on it, so it could be done in a repair workshop, it would be nice to see it on daylight wout the flashlight, as the color of finish is strange then, possible this is only polished as by chrome would be needed a underground with Copper coat.
