Looking for a review of a couple restorations

Just looking for feedback on these restorations I've done over the last couple decades. I used BBOTW for reference, first edition and I know it has some things wrong. I'll include a description of the rifle and what I put on it to restore it. Let me know what I've done wrong LOL and what should be replaced (better yet, if you have it).

First up, a dot 44 an series. This came to me as a complete barreled action in a sporter stock set. The trigger guard was also replaced before I bought it. So, I've put it in an unmarked stock, a dot marked RC hand guard, stamped bands with the krieg holes for screws, stamped band spring, stamped byf t guard (I'm told it's wrong as it has the second 135 proof) and an unmarked milled floorplate. The marks on the barrel are from the attempt at sporterizing it, the barrel was crooked and had to be re-centered. It has an absolutely perfect bore and the finish is nice and looks original on all parts.

Second up is a bcd 4 'c' block 3 digit serial. Again, I bought it in a sporter stock set. The lip on the front of the rear sight base was removed, I added an unmarked one, I have a correctly marked one here but the finish is much nicer so I haven't changed it yet. All matching serials, I used an 'e' marked bayo lug, I've since changed to a solid milled front and milled rear band. Milled spring. The rear sight was missing on this one but the base and spring were there. I used un numbered replacements. Stock is a white glue I believe, when I bought it, it was painted white.

Third up is my byf 44 5 digit no letter. Sporter and was in a turk cut down set. Wrong t guard was on it. Matching numbers on barreled action. I have a Portugese stock set on it for now with a solid front and milled rear band. Definitely need a more correct stock set and t guard/floor plate. Would the bands be milled and numbered at this point?

Based on the pics I’ll have to say “nice job!”
Think it’s the first time I’ve seen a numbered bolt release. Course my memory is poor.

Definitely agree. While there are almost always a few small technical details that could be 'cleaned up' to make them somewhat more correct compared to how you described them they're much better off now.

Do you mean ever of just this late? It was common early, especially pre-war for all three parts (box, ejector and screw) to be accepted and the box 2 digit serialed.

My area of interest has always been 41-44 and mainly BYF and BNZ.
And I still make no claims of great knowledge. Always learning!
Thanks for the info.

Nice work We have that in common. Restoring bubba/sporterized is a hobby that I enjoy. Pacing item's are good stocks and un numbered barrel bands.

Now I just wish I could find a couple early barreled actions to throw in my early Norway capture stocks! And I’d be in the same boat as you fellas. :happy0180:
