Mark Novak ("Anvil") just did some work on a K43

Usually, you make the aftermarket barrel band fit the stock, not the other way around. Here, both stock and band are aftermarket, so no problem with carving the stock. The receiver has been ground smooth, no reason to whine about welding up scope rail holes. It's a shooter, baby.
The guy is so big, he makes the K43 look like an M1 carbine.
 
On a fairly rough k43 with a bunch of aftermarket parts, I think he did a well enough job. But he has a video of where he works on a k98k and reblues numerous parts that shouldnt have been. Overall I think he does good work. But he has his bubba moments..
