I know it doesn't really fit to the K98k, but nevertheless an important rifle in the post WWII history of Mauser, so thought I should share it.
Attached are pictures of a Mauser 66 SP sniper rifles. the SP variant of the Mauser 66 was only offered to authorities. It was designed as a police sniper rifle, being extremely heavy and bulky, nothing you want to carry around. The walnut stock features an adjustable buttplate and cheek pad. The magazine is non detachable. A difference from the normal Mauser 66 was not only the unique flash hider, but also the phosphate finish, as well as the integrated scope rail for the Mauser own scope mount which locks with a single locking lever.
The attached shown rifle is one of the rifles which were purchased by the GIS elite unit of the Italian Carabinieri (Military Police in Italy). It is one of only a handful which still not only has the matching numbers Zeiss Divari 1.5-6x scope, but as well the matching numbers Old Delft HV 8x50 AT night vision scope (if you ask me, this is a license production from the Zrak NV scope, which looks identical), which still is fully functional.
