Big thanks to Ty for digging this one up and kindly parting with it Appears to undoubtedly be a factory pick up due to the features, and goes nicely with my pistols of the same flavor. The bolt and carrier do not match, there is no final, the barrel band appear to have not been final fit, it’s not close to dropping into detent, and it does not appear to have had a hood on it. Another dusty untouched closet rifle

I have one question, is Greifelt a known sub contractor for G43 parts??

A late one for sure Clay, I love that stock. You never told me what the bolt serial number was. Do you have documents showing Greifelt and Co manufacturing components for the K43.

Damian, no, but there is a part marked with the same font G as seen on 98k components and I figure it’s certainly possible given their proximity and prior production. I’ll get the bolt apart and get a look at it when I’m home.

That’s a really nice one. Love the wood on it. First report on this one.

So, K.43 #2885d is reported in Claus Espeholt’s listings, but not a whole lot of info on it.

K.43 #2852d is the one reported next, before yours on this site on 06-06-17 by sturmgrenadier (you might be able to check it out with a search). That rifle has a factory error e penciled serial number on the firing pin carrier and both locking lugs. Same middle number on all three components e penciled incorrectly.

So far, no rifles around yours is reported with the scope rail milled off. Yours might just have been one in the pile that was grabbed for assembly.

I’ve wondered about some of these late mismatches. I wonder if they were put together at the factory by G.I.’s and taken home that way?....like the late ac PP’s and late P.38 ac45 mismatches. Late K.43 mismatches aren’t documented like the P.38’s and PP’s were. I just find it impossible that some of these late d block K.43’s weren’t done that way as well. That rifle is just too nice and un-jacked with to make me wonder if maybe it is a factory mismatch taken out by a G.I.

I entirely believe it’s got to be Kelly, unfinished like this and all. Thanks for the info on rifles near this one! I’ve got more to send you as well. I’ll grab more pictures this week of other details. It maybe trivial to some but I find the (apparently) Greifelt “G” marked charging handle very interesting.

Nice rifle Clay. A late un-sanded K43 stock is just the coolest.

I agree with Kelly. I believe that many of these d block mismatch rifles are ones captured at the factory and GI assembled. The f block of QVE is the same way. Try finding a QVE 45 f block that doesn't have an error. Seems kind of tough.
