MP-40 Muzzle Nut: Authentic?

Never saw a miniature proof eagle on an original MP-40 muzzle nut, but the seller of the one pictured below claims it's original. I'd thought that the only things proof marked on an MP-40 were the barrels, receivers, and bolts. What do you think?

Also, the original nuts I've seen had slightly chamfered edges, apparently so that they didn't quickly wear the retaining wire clip.

I'd say a typical $20 Euro repro with a humper bird stamp to sell it as original. There is no reason for a firing proof on a muzzle nut. They usually bear the last 3 of the weapon serial either stamped or with bnz, acid etched '42 and later, perhaps unnumbered late '43 on. I'd pay no more for it than a repro price. Got pics of the bird?

This is from another site where the poster was offered several of these for $50 each by a seller who swears they're original. Rather doubt that sale is going to happen, now.
