MP41 Magazines

Bought some mp40 parts and he threw in a couple reproduction magazines which I bought sight unseen. Showed up and are these MP41 mags, cleaned them up and function well. My question is are these repros or are they originals? Haven’t had any MP41 originals in hand before. TIA.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think that?

I've never seen a repro MP41 or MP40 mag with markings. The ones pictured are original. Small production variations existed.

Not an expert, but my first thought was no repro company is going to make such a detailed die. I also agree with the assessment about small variations between dies.

The only usable, good quality MP40 & 41 mags that I know of are those offered by Dittrich, in the US through DK Production Group. They have no markings.

That was my thought too, and if you were going to make repro stamps for an mp40/41 the standard mp38/40 mags would require a little less detail (kind of). Did find an example of the stamps in the collector grade mp40 book that I have. Stampings are slightly different, but not an expert and agree could just be variations.

Didn’t think of that, but that makes perfect sense.

More fuel for the fire…. The stick magazine has a pair of Eagle 37 proofs on the back of the magazine at the top, similar to the proof on the magazine loader. I will define these as authentic to my customers. What might these be selling for in the collector market these days ? I rarely see NFA stuff….
