I've had this about six weeks or so now. Just got a chance to take apart for cleaning and photographs. Pretty cool rifle. I find matching numbers on barrel/receiver and other parts.

The stock has a stamped number in it, but it does not match the serial number found on other parts of the rifle.

I've included pictures of the inside of the sling as well. You can see markings on what, I'm sure is an original WWII sling. I just can't make them out using magnifying glasses, lots of light etc. If anyone can make them out, you should go into the optometry business and make a fortune.

More pix to follow. I look forward to comments about this rifle for my notes.

Thanks all!

The bands should be, but typically with m/m stocks, bands are likely mismatched as well. Bolt is good, FN made bolt bodies are most common, but OP keeps uploading the same pictures over an over...

So far it looks like a original-matching action (barreled receiver and bolt), it is common for such groupings to originate from old sporters. It is also common for TG-FP being original in such cases, - a pretty typical byf/44, so far nothing unusual.

Loewe,

Exactly where I was going with that. Sporter rescue!
