PPK Help

Hey guys,

So I'm looking at picking what is advertised as a pre war ppk. I'm just starting to get into axis pistols and my knowledge is very limited. I was wondering if the finish appears to be original and the production time frame for this piece? I am also wondering if it appears to be matching (I can only see a serial on the frame)?

Thanks,

Slide will have last three digits of the ser number scratched inside slide by ejection port. Finish looks ok to me

Seller is stating that the slide is unmarked. He's saying the eagle/n ones were unmarked at the time this one was made?

He is wrong. Early high polish guns did not have numbers on outside of slide so to keep parts matched walther scribed the last three digits of ser number on inside of slide opposite ejection port. It is sometimes hard to see because markings are done by hand. Take slide off frame and look from underside and you sometimes have to get on right lite to see

Thank you.

Just got a new picture of the slide from the seller and I'm not seeing any evidence of internal markings.
