Hello Br
I do not believe that is an original stamp on your RG34 kit. I myself have seen several ftd marked kits but none followed by a date of any sort. In my opinion someone added the maker stamp recently.

I would agree with stewartb. The case is a early (c.a. 1938 or before) manufactured one (probably for export) which has had the code for manufacturer Peter Schlesinger (ftd) and a date applied to the originally unmarked lid. All known "ftd" Rg34 cases are painted green. The code is in a italicized font, there are two sizes of this stamp and they are never accompanied by a date stamp. The components (tool, chain and oiler) may be found with this same stamp or unmarked. More here:
