Hello friends, this is my W 625 B, one of the last made by Simson, before switching to BSW. It is a very accurate rifle.

great rifle... I love the Simson muzzle cover !!!! :hail:hail::hail: I see the gunrunner auction paper work.
I remember that windfall of trainers sold @ that auction. I don't really remember that rifle with the muzzle cover ? Did you add it ? I and my buddy bought a couple rifles from that collection.

These papers auction, printed to have different models W 625 B, as I wrote several notes to local gun magazines.
The story of my W 625 B, the story here ....

Yes, I use to do the same thing. I tracked hundreds of online auctions to get serial data. That's really the only way I was able to study these rifles as no info exists. That muzzle cover was a Mauser design for the DSM34 and Im sure that's what it was produced for. Simson made a DSM34 during the same time period.
That's also the second type B receiver. Early types having the smaller loading gate.

I agree that it is the version of bigger window. I also had to investigate for info about them. You know a serial number of higher Simson before switching BSW?
wait really long time for this W 625 B, until the family decided to sell it. Really has very little use, and muzzle covers came with.

That is a very nice rifle. It is the best condition rifle I have ever seen. I have never held a Simson muzzle cover but would love to get one. I don't run across many 22 cal. Muzzle covers marked or unmarked. I am currently trying to get an example of each progressive model.

Here some more photos of muzzle cover........

I don't doubt the muzzle cover did. I was just saying that pattern was designed by Mauser for the dsm34. THE W625 slowly began to become a dsm34 clone and shared all the same parts less the barreled action/bolt.

Bob S. and I were discussing the fact that a large firm like mauser may have mass produced all the small stamped parts for the program. As they are very consistent in fit and finish spread amongst all the manufactures. Just a theory.

I would agree with Mauser 99, the muzzle cover came from a Simson DSM-34. The Simson DSM-34's are rare and I would guess the muzzle covers even more so.

Perhaps it is as they say. The muzzle covers and came with the rifle when you buy, and fits perfectly, as if it had been designed for 625 W B.

I have an early Simson 625 and it came with a different style muzzle cover that attaches using the cuts on the front sight. It has been there awile as the blueing has been rubed in that area. My muzzle cover has no markings.

Reviewing this brochure/publicity that came out in another post, and also in the sales Catalog Akah of 1935/6, is the W 625 B with muzzle cover.

This is the muzzle cover that came with my Simson A. If someone thinks this muzzle cover goes to a different type rifle please let me know. No expert on muzzle covers, I only own two, but I am waiting for one of two books to come out so that my knowledge can grow. There was someone I was able to speak to years ago from Sarco but he is no longer alive. I wish I was into trainers more back then, I could have asked more questions.

If you look closely, the front sight of the early models have two guides to put the muzzle cover. For the last Simson models, do not have those guides, and muzzle cover is different, as in the BSW models.
Therefore, ask above, if someone knew one Simson W 625 B with the highest that the numbering 140,553. I firmly believe that is one of the last Simson, before switching to BSW.

I will try to post some pictures. My camera isn't working. I will see if I can borrow my daughter's. I always have trouble taking photos of firearms because of glare. We have snow on the ground so outdoor photos with available light will not work. Please be patient.
