Special 1917 DWM Gew98

Here's a looker, a 1917 DWM "c" block Gew98 with a stock that retains a unit disc & no forearm finger grooves. Mostly matching with an armorer's cockpiece, m/m handguard (#5619), & m/m rear sight leaf & slide (#19.) The outside end of barrel exhibits some pitting, & firing pin tip is snipped.

This one is eligible for adoption / a new caretaker....

Nice rifle. Once bought a Kar98a (Erfurt 1917) matching with walnut stock. Rifle had a discolored, paper hanging tag indicating it came from a VFW Hall. Firing pin was "snipped" on that rifle, too.
Since it was a matching FP, took it to a G'smith whom drilled out the remaining tip, fabricated and installed a pin, and welded/machined it to spec. He did a very nice job...
