Hello! I purchased this a while back and the seller had no info. I believe it may be Israeli, because the barrel is marked 7.62, 1-67, and it has Hebrew markings. But I have not been able to find this attached receiver marking anywhere online. Thanks for any help, it is appreciatedIMG_3363.jpeg
 
It's a Chinese Mauser made at the Gongxian arsenal. That crazy date just confirms it. I don't recall the exact date breakdown.

The 26 is like 26th year of the Republic IIRC.
 
I don't think the Israelis used any Chinese rifles.

My guess would be someone re-barreled it with an Israeli barrel when they turned it into a sporter. A lot of those Chinese guns had dire bores, and there was a period in the late 90s/early 00s where NOS Israeli 98k barrels in 7.62 were fairly cheap and a fairly popular basis for a cheap, garage custom gun project.
