Star B German WWII contract pistol.

I have a question on my Star B, German wartime contract.

The magazine shown is the one that was in the gun when I bought it. (no folded sidewalls)
Is this the correct style for this WWII German contract pistol?

I'd like to find another correct magazine for the spare pouch, but need to know what I'm looking for.)
(the Star folded over sidewalls magazine in the spare pouch was added by me to help keep the pouch's shape.)
BTW, the holster is un-marked, with only the Star's impressions on the inside.

Thanks for any help.
Regards, Ned

I believe the magazine in your pistol is the correct one, it's the same as the ones that came with my bring back rig...

I have several German WW2 Star B's and believe that my pistols have both types of magazines. Problem is that they are not numbered to the pistols so no way to be sure based on subjective observations.

bayoned,

Nice find! These are very high quality pistols, and they're a delight to shoot.

Star originally supplied these pistols with two mags, each numbered to the gun, with the word Star on the base, as in your photo. You have a replacement Star mag, but there's no way to tell exactly when it was manufactured as mags did not have the date codes that the pistols do:

You've probably noticed that the 9mm round is a poor fit in your magazine. This is because the magazines were designed to work with the longer Spanish 9mm Largo round. Very late Star B and Super B 9mm Luger magazines have an additional metal strip down the inside back of the mag that neatly adapts the mag to the length of the 9x19mm P.08 cartridge. If your mag has this strip, it was produced in the mid 1950s and later.

I have a Star B identical to yours except that it has a V code, dating it to 1951. Star was still producing these for Germany, as police guns. They're marked with the large LPN code on the grip frames. These were also supplied with a black holster and two matching mags.

Star B mags are still found in Interarms packaging, being sold as new. They aren't. They vary widely in condition. Most have the original three digit serial number. Every time I find one I think to myself that there's a one in 999 chance that it'll match my gun.
