I am pretty sure I can post this link as I was the crazy winning bidder of this auction.

I bought it assuming that it is a Finn Bear mount with an original 1941 scope with no refurb marks and no CB turret conversion.

I am interested the opinion of other members.

If it turns out to be legit - all the better. I know the Finn Bear mounts are highly controversial as many have been sold as 'original WWII Soviet' and with so few 'original WWII Soviet' examples in any collection anywhere - lots of people refuse to admit or even consider the possibility that their scope could or may be Finn Bear origin. Doesn't help when the Finn Bear mounts are a few decades old, Finnish manufacture and often aged.

Nevertheless, I only have Ukrainian and Chinese knock off mounts at the moment and those make my 5x SVT snipers sad.

Kyle, yes this is a Finn Bear mount (not original war time Russian). But you still paid a pretty good price and they do look a lot better then other reproductions. Congrats!

But Kyle, you don’t even have an original Finn Sniper.... I think you need to trade it to me! Lol

Trade you straight up for my 2000 Chrysler Neon! Mopar Power! :)

Thanks Matt
If only the Canadian dollar wasn't in the tank....in US dollars it was a reasonable purchase.

When I first saw Finnbear with those he was set up at the Dallas show, like in 1992 or 1993, and had three of them on his table, complete scoped, with covers, etc. They were $600.00. I would have found it hard to believe then that they were not original Soviet WW2. They looked just like the one on the epay awkshun.

Most agree that the Finnbear mounts are the best of the reproductions. They fooled many for a long time. Most collectors will pay more for the mount vs other repros due to the quality.

I think I am seeing a CB on that elevation turret, which can be easily changed if you are concerned about it.

We all want a real mount but they are extremely hard to find. My dug mount is likely the best I will ever do.

Shooting wise, the Finnbears typically fit very well and zero OK. They do seem to hammer the notch a bit though.

This is how originals look like ... and yep, one is reblued and one sportered. But at least all originals.

I notice one is 'sans' scope...it wouldn't happen to be for sale? lol
Queue up with mdarnell19 and take a ticket

No, seriously: if I might ever part with one of them, it will for sure be first the sportered one, then followed by the reblued one. But so far still can't bring myself to that.

Lovely set nevertheless.

And consider myself in-line behind Matt.
