A thread for sharing period photographs of the Mauser Tankgewehr 1918. I will get it started with a few examples. Many of these are well known but hoping others will be new to some. Please post your pics here as well .....

First two photographs are men from the US 80th Infantry Division posing with captured weapons and gear ......

Interesting photo series of Canadian Forces with captured weapons near Arras in September 1918. Upon close examination 22 T-Gewehr can be identified.

These are excellent, thank you for posting them!

I'm assuming the World War II picture was one that got stashed by a soldier post WWI and was found during a search by allied troops. I wouldn't think that any of these were actually fielded in WWII.

Pretty interesting either way

I knew an old gunsmith back in the 70's who was a WW2 US armorer in Germany. He once told me they picked up a T18 and swapped the barrel from a Browning .50 cal machine gun and shot it for fun while off duty with surplus .50 cal ammo. He did share a photo of his group holding the rifle. He has long passed on, but remember the story well.

My thoughts as well Chris ......
