    Yes it is interesting. unnumbered safety only with inspection mark on rifles that were produced shortly after each other (they could even be produced in the course of the same day). Is it possible a factory error? I think safeties stopped being numbered during k block byf44

    Matching BYF 44 C block. Only safety is probably replaced. Safety has no serial number, its only marked WaA 135. FN made bolt, MI and WaA 140 marked.

    Thank you for all comments. Yes you are right, now I look at it. I haven't noticed it before. It's number 78 and it's hard to read. Thank you for info. Handguard is replaced, maybe during the war, maybe after the war ... but I think it was a normal small repair .... The rifle is purchased...

    Hallo, I'm sending some pictures of my new rifle. Its WWI Austria-Hungary Mannlicher M95 from 1915 in original condition. Its all maching, no import marks. Most M95 were rebarreled after the war, to 8x56 R calibre....This M95 is in the original caliber Austro-Hungary Army 8x50R.

    Matching Tikka 1933, no import marking. Purchased directly in Finland. Built on a 1901 Izhevsk receiver, it has a two pieces stock and early nose cap. It came with original sling. I love this Finnish-Russian old war horse.

    I have all matching dou 43 sn.2778d. On bolt sleeve is also "27". I thought it was the first two digits of serial number...... Only safety is MM.

    Mauser 71 thank you very much, I will try to get the book. It looks very interesting. Just can not understand one thing. I do not know how is it in the US, but in Europe is possible these beautiful, matching, 130 years old rifles, easier to find than the much younger and in their millions...
