No4 Mk1 T scope caps real or repro?

I have no idea. My father sold a legit No4 Mk1 t years ago and these were with the rifle. Somehow got separated and lost. I took them as that’s what kids do to their dad and am gonna sell them. But are these real? I can’t quite tell if they smell like modern leather, maybe slightly. Leather looks like it has slight age cracking. Any Help?

Not only reproduction. I’ve never seen reproduction with attempted stamps. These are faked... bad too

then the light one. But on the other hand the light one has the same mark that yours has.--??

I have a 1942 No4Mk1(T) made by Savage, just a beautiful rifle to shoot and very accurate.
It’s right up there with Mausers.

Yeah, honestly, the No.4 sniper might have been one of the most carefully build snipers in WWII...

IF you can find a copy, read Peter Laidler's book, "An armourer's perspective: .303 No. 4 (T) sniper rifle and the Holland & Holland connection"

Fascinating stuff...Holland & Holland made all the WWII No. 4 Sniper rifles...

When test fired, exceptionally accurate No.4's were tagged and pulled for further testing, if it past those, they were shipped to H&H and converted.

His book describes in detail every step taken on the conversions, including QA/QC checks...

I like to say I own a H&H rifle, my No. 4 T....

I think they are great guns, better than the 03A4 with its piddly Weaver scope...I would guess it was better built with more attention to detail than many of the German sniper rifles...but I would not make that statement for sure I guess...

Yep, definately repro.

My original lens covers on my original all matching 1944 dated No.4(T) doesn't have any date or makers stamps on it, although I have seen a few early originals with stamps.

And yes, the No.4(T) was probably the all around best sniper rifle of WW2. Still good enough that with a calibre change to 7.62x51 NATO, some were still in service and saw use in GW1 in Kuwait/Iraq in 1991.
