Looking for something to take to the SOS and pulled this out. Have you seen the prices for nice byf Lugers? Crazy! This is a “brown recluse” with wood grips and black bottom fxo magazine. Just high edge wear, unnumbered e/135 grips. Not sure exactly why a large number of these have unnumbered grips. Haven’t found a good 42 date holster yet, found 41 dated ones for the byf41’s.

One of these days I am going to buy a Luger.....hard to believe I don't have one in the collection.

Very nice, btw!

In my opinion only the rare Lugers and 97% or better are expensive. I see a lot of the common ones in nice shape about the same price as they have been for years. K98s and Nice Japanese rifles have really increased. Japanese rifles have risen the most percentage wise in my opinion. G43s have not done bad either. Quite pricey. By the way you have a really nice condition! Would be one that has held its value well. Thanks for sharing it. Larry

As far as Lugers go, I think the bottom of the market guns have risen while the top end stuff has stayed pretty flat. Middle tier WW2 guns have gone up a lot too, especially "Black Widows." You should see what places like Legacy can get for a complete rig.

Interesting topic... i think you will find your windfall will not arrive .. These online dealers have created this not the shows or the sellers at the shows.. They arent that expensive there till they hits the sites.. Fatty had really pushed the envelope on certain guns and he wont stop till the peak is reached or the bottom falls out. I have noticed with Lugers that the common military 4" guns are doing well where all the odd ball contract and commercial stuff is flat and creeping down. The old bastards who collected that stuff are dying off there is no one buying it up. Newer active collectors want combat only stuff;; Same with uniforms and blades.. The common equipment that use to be everywhere cheap is gone. Shipped to Europe and tripled in cost..

Plus the majority of the buyers that fatty and others cater to barely leave their homes and never venture to a show.. Pre98's newsletter basically instructs them not to do so.. I think it said "dont waste your time" Stay away from the unkept heathens and lowlifes . Never more of an insult ive heard from a total crook and horrible person..

Good looking Luger with honest wear. I prefer them like this. Not sure on prices, but i think in the ballpark of 2k. The byf 41 I sold last year to fund my hunting property I was told by a few people I sold it too low. I might have squeezed a little more out of it but needed it to move fast and don’t like to try to get every penny from fellow forum members. I have been treated fairly by some members and like to do the same.

I think M99 nailed the current Luger market, especially at the Allentown show.

The more I look at it, I’m going to keep it. Ill
Find a good 42 date holster one day. I have a decent Luger collection as is, kinda need the 42. I agree that all of the oddball Lugers are going to lose value, and things like Kü Lugers will align with the true value vs the weird inflated values by Luger Boomers believing stupid theories.

ku's are still scarce despite just being a Luft depot assembled pistol from left over parts.. They arent SS paratrooper submarine luftwaffe observation balloon pilot pistols sadly enough made by Kieghoff..:ROFLMAO:

Nice, i have a no suffix byf 42. It's in black window majesty of course, 😂. I like both black grips and wood grips equally. I wouldn't pay more just to get one with original black grips. They are original black grips though on my P.08. Some repro black grips are being made more convincing at first glance, with same manufacturing properties. With most being unnumbered and the nefarious sellers trying to charge extra for a black widow has destroyed some of the manufacturing history to some extent.
