That Amberg/02 was something, it didn't surprise Wolfgang, but it amazed me because no reference to one had existed and not even a report (which even among pre-war WMO exist for every year but are probably bogus.. or rather mistaken or misreported...)
As I recall it was a nice example too, but there are few "common" pre-war maker-dates, maybe WMO-DWM 1906-1907'ish as they really made a lot for a couple of years when the arsenals were engaged in Kar98a production.
Really the combination of condition here along with rather low production make this a rather rare rifle. Pre-war Amberg is not necessarily rare, but certain years are, especially with original stocks (and bolts).
