Good morning,
Last find, this very nice Stirnpanzer with almost 98% of original paint. 4mm thick and 2080 gr.
Not so easy to find in this condition nowadays.

WW I supplemental helmet armor for German snipers. There is also one that covered half of the face. The British captured the latter and tested it. It failed.

Yes . We name it: elephant mask.
I had one many years ago. It’s heavy and uncomfortable.
the holes for the eyes are so tiny that it’s quite impossible to see
anything threw them.

This pretty neat, too bad for whoever had to wear them that they didn't work apparently. Would be cool to see the face cover.

Not often seen. I guess it’s better than taking one in the face, but it looks pretty useless. What protection are the spikes supposed to provide?

The spikes are not a protection. It’s the over side of the rivets fixing the inside straps
