44crs sequential pair

Slash put me onto this bayonet as he knew my SN from his records. The condition is not what I like but my hands were tied. A sequential pair. One having the life of luxury of a GI who picked it up, oiled it and set it aside untouched for decades. The other, hung and used in a homemade frog that’s essentially bonded to it. Sharpened, well used. But you just don’t see sequential bayonets so I went for it.

interesting comparison. I was trying to stress this years back during our heated camo debates that not all items have to share the same patina. All these items are a victim of their environment. Not all do or should share the same condition unless they are stored side by side. Pretty cool..

100% agree. An items post war life greatly influences its look now. Even if not used like this, a helmet , maybe camo, some the same day as another one stored in a basement , one in an attic will vary greatly. Plus collector cleaning, touching , etc

Its not so bad condition the 6515g, more real only wrongly stored, question is too how deep is the sharpening. After oiling it would look much better probably.

With the “frog” being bonded and no active rust, I opted to just leave it as is. The sharpening is pretty bad. Lol
