Ex-German use Yugoslav Model 1924 Mauser Rifle

Hi Pat.
I found your thread while doing some research on German captured Yugo Model 1924’s.
One is listed at an auction site in my country, and it has WaA three places, that I can tell from the few pictures provided.
One on the trigger housing, one on the floor plate and one on the receiver.
No other indications of German restamping or bluing, like you have described above.
What is your opinion on this one?

A WaA proof on a Artillery Technicki Zavod also rifle which was made around 1930/1 would be strange, only possible would be refurbishment of HZA type.

Hi Andy.
If it has a depot mark, would it be on the underside of the pistolgrip below the trigger, do you know?

Even it would have HZA proof a normal WaA should be not there. I dont see detail of the WaA stamped on front of serial?

No it's not clear in the picture, but these are the only pictures provided.
It is Strange, that the WaA's are there, but nothing else has been done to the rifle!

What can be seen of the bolt raises questions. I would want to know if it matches (to start with), but it's also unusually shiny for its age. The other visible numbers obviously match, though.

WaA stamps in the noted locations are highly suspect. In short, they shouldn't be there because those were applied at production facilities vs. following an inspection at a small arms depot, in which case we could expect to see a depot stamp. Otherwise it's a nice looking rifle, but I'd pass on it.

Thank you Pat. Yeah I haven’t made up my mind yet, whether I want to bid on it. I don’t have the oppotunity to see the rifle with my fingers, so I just wanted a couple of “second opinions”!
