In searching for a related issue , re-bluing of S84/98 bayonets, I came across this former post of mine so I'm hoping I can just tag on to this post for more information. I have since sold the Yugo refurb
but have recently come across instances of re-blued blades from S code bayonets. All of...
Thanks for that Andy! I'm researching my S/174K and S/175K S84/98's I noticed both were also low S/N's (5404a & 1795a respectively). As the Nasty party ((NSDAP) didn't officially
take over until August of 1934 they could not have produced very many bayonets in that year that had the new...
Photo sent to me recently showing the same type of frog w/ strap. Just FYI. I still maintain the strap is original but the stud on the strap was replaced post war. Edit and Revised 2/7: The strap is not original based on a comparison to 4 of my other "Cavalry" Strap bayonets frogs. Definitely...

Look on the inside belt loop of any s84/98 frog and you'll see what I mean. This is one of those...
I think I found the answer. I noticed this earlier in comparing straps on my other ones. This one has been restitched. SOmeone replaced the original. That would explain a real maker with a modern strap knob. Whadya think? See pic
Unfortunately no Blacklight! Sold it with my Bong in '78! And I can't say it has the same smell as my '41 /'42's but they have a lot more wear on them. Tough to say. I think that knob may be
one thing that says " Repro" unless the maker in Hackenburg can be found. I've done enough "ageing" on...
