Had a friend verify the stock and hand guard, both are numbers matching.

    dou 44 help

Thanks for the input! I remember seeing several other examples around this block, including a couple e block guns that also had white glue stocks. When looking for other dou 44 examples I find it harder to find early block examples, but see quite a few later ones. Any reason why that might be...

    dou 44 help

Hey! I remember acquiring this rifle a few years back from the great granddaughter. It would seem unlikely it was messed with post war, but I’m definitely interested in taking it apart when I get back home to check the stock numbers, if there are any. I am starting to think about selling or...

    dou 44 help

It very well may be numbered, I just can’t for the life of me remember if it is. Currently away from the rifle and will be for a few more months. I’ve only had it apart once and I remember that it was all matching but the bolt release. I am starting to think about selling or trading it. What...

    dou 44 help

D letter block! If I remember correctly, stock is only marked “dot” on the bottom and is not numbered, along with the hand guard. The rear barrel band is numbered matching on the bottom rather than the side and the front band is unnumbered.

    dou 44 help

Hello all! I’ve had this rifle for some time now and I am going to be looking to part with it soon. Unfortunately, I am not near the rifle and won’t be for a few months. The pictures I’m going to post are the only pictures I have. From memory, I know that the stock is marked with “dot” on the...

    Depot Reworked / LK5 Marked 243 - 1939 #8087

Thank you for correcting me! I knew I would mess something up. Mausers are a huge learning curve for me at the moment and very daunting 😅 Is the barrel likely original to the receiver? Or possibly replaced at the same time as the major repair?

    Depot Reworked / LK5 Marked 243 - 1939 #8087

Group, I am the new owner of the recently sold 243 - 1939 #8087 with accompanying battle damage. This rifle already has a thread, but the photos were directly taken from the listing. Now that I’m back in town from the holidays, I’ve picked it up at my FFL and properly photographed it for you...

    243 1939 #8087 LK5 marked.

I actually did not. Someone I know posted this thread for me, but then I remembered I had an account already so I’ve been able to follow along. I will definitely be posting more detailed photos later this week.

    243 1939 #8087 LK5 marked.

Stephan, I purchased this rifle from the auction and I will be uploading detailed pictures when it arrives. Thank you all for the very educational discussion! I heavily collect battle damaged Japanese weapons, but haven’t had the opportunity to buy a battle damaged German one yet, the reason...

    1916 Spandau, depot repaired?

There are some other things to note, the “8” in “81” on the bolt body is stamped upside down. Not sure if someone trying to fake numbers would have made that error, along with what @PrayingMantis said about them not entirely scrubbing the old markings. The other thing is that the firing pin is...

    1916 Spandau, depot repaired?

I tend to agree with your assessment. And why only the bolt body, and not the other numbers on the bolt? This rifle had not been messed with in a very long time, likely ever since coming over here. I will share a photo of the bolt condition prior to cleaning. I have a depot built rifle on a...
