I purchased a reissued S84/98 bayonet stamped 1920 with this this belt frog a very long time ago.

This rare belt frog is one of my favourite S84/98 ersatz types for the S84/98, made from pieces of broken on scrap leather - length 225 mm.
Each one I have viewed is different and only one (so far) has had the strap loop removed.
A rare Bavarian belt frog issued in 1915 by the Clothing Depot, III Bavarian Army Corps and marked to the 19th Bavarian Infantry Regiment. Very nice condition and colour with punch rivets rather than washers and rivets..... not easy to find!

this bayonet is one of the rare series of conversions made from the S71/84 - all have Imperial German acceptance stamps on pommel.
Recorded models appear to be very similar to S84/98aA bayonets with wood grips and a small round oil hole by Move-Werk & Mehlich during 1915.
