What is the Grz abbreviation? I cannot find an exact match in my reference books. Thought it best to post here rather than in the bayonet section since it would probably be wiped out by the WWII posts.
Chris, are you aware of any references for the various muzzle cover markings either book or website? I have Storz but it doesn't mention markings for the covers.
Picked up two nickel plated Gew.98 muzzle covers this past weekend at the AGCA show in Hoover, AL. The blued example (MC1) I purchased from a page member a couple of years ago.

With the bolt removed should you be able to see the end of the firing pin? Other bolt action rifles I own you can just see the end of the firing pin when looking at the face of the bolt but in the case of my 71/84 I cannot see it. Being not that familiar with 71/84s I do not know if this is...
