WTK: Weird marked luger? 1915 DWM.

Hey Y’all, Here is a weird luger I found posted. Not the type I want specifically, but the marks on this part are confusing me. I know it isn’t a Finnish gun, but the mix of stamping is what’s throwing me off. Would appreciate any help out of just intrigue.

    Since you asked... my G12/34

I believe I have all the stuff needed for a sling, I just don’t have a sling! I’ve been trying to see if any standard K98 or other sling variant was used. If I’m stuck with no sling, then I’m stuck with no sling. Only other thing is finding a correct bayonet! Thank you for the photos :)

    Another turd alert / gunbroker

Same. That’s why I’m moving to Cold War/ combloc stuff. Then again the AK market is in shambles lol. If I collect anything WW2, since I have G12/34, I’ll collect Luftwaffe guns but beyond that nothing else, maybe a StG-44 among other things. But my lord, Tapped mausers that’re Russian captures...

    Another turd alert / gunbroker

I find it amazing how dealers take the time to make shill accounts. Doesn’t make sense to me. Just sell it lol.

Did they… really just add a scope to the damn thing? You’re kidding, right?

    Another turd alert / gunbroker

And here I am just trying to sell a few tokarevs I don't want anymore. Yet all these big dealers keep sourcing weird fakes, and up-charging the living hell on them, and no one is the wiser. I always feel like GB is tired to some people due to an algorithm at this point.

Legacy VIS 35 have a laugh

To say the least, I guess in my experience, Legacy lowballs and will do so, even on high-end guns. Especially when you compare it to other auctions, websites, or even Gunbroker listings. Let's just say he appraised one of my guns at... 1/4 the value of what it is. Just appraising. Then a horrid...

    Correct Sling for G12/34?

Trying to find a sling for this G12/34 I have. Looking for photos or any evidence of a sling anywhere has been tough. Also curious if they even got them as standard issue… someone mentioned to me they didn’t. I just don’t know if it uses a standard K98 sling, or does it use a variant of the...

Such A Steaming Turd Deal !!!!!

There is literal listing of the M200 intervention painted in Red Tiger camo from modern warfare 2 (2009). What makes it funnier is Cheytac is doing it themselves: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1014639542

Such A Steaming Turd Deal !!!!!

The smartest move for the average K98 collector: don’t buy off Gunjoker. Almost always is it a scam lol. This listing made me chuckle when I first saw it get posted. My guy has to either not know anything about it, or he got burned hard on it and is trying to get what he has back.

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

Gotcha, thank you Stephan for this wealth of knowledge. I should try doing my own photo catalog then and post them here. Thank you as well for the links to the books. Last I looked none were available. I also appreciate the history of your grandfather and more so on the K98k rifle overall. I...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

The only way I’d say why, is that this G12/34 has seen combat. It definitely isn’t as clean as the others I’ve seen online. Whether it be from Legacy or Pre98. Will agree as well it’s unique and I like the history on it. Who knows what it’s gone through. I got this rifle for the cost of a RC...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

Atleast that gives some level of positivity. Doubt you see a reworked G12/34 anywhere. Maybe one of the ones in the database is similar. I’ll probably be doing that later today to trt and see what’s different. Are there any other things to look for to maybe determine anything? Did reworks at a...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

Sadly, I don't have any visible LK5 mark. If there ever was one even. Besides that, I've looked the stock over. The only thing I can do is remove the stock itself. Just from everything I've researched so far, especially in my deep dives, it seems at least like a real G12/34, just it has seen...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

Thank you for your opinion. Do you have any photos of the lk5? Also, what should I look for on the bolt handle? And for the handguard, did you mean on the left side on the top handguard? Close to the sight? Sorry to ask so many questions, I am literally not an expert in these. My world of...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

That’s fair. I just found it to be cool. From looking into other examples of depot reworks and so on, I’d like to believe this is legitimate. I mean like @Stephan98k ans @Warrior1354 said, it could likely be a troop armorer rework, and it would make some sense. Most of the parts add up to the...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

I haven’t done a full tear down. Where else should I look for armorer components? I’ve yet to pull the stock off the receiver entirely. The only different marks have been the WaA4, “S” under the buttplate, and the S/42. I'll try and do a more thorough disassembly in a bit. Then we can see if...

    1939 G29(o) - With some interesting features!

I see. This does make sense. I had no idea the company itself wouldn't have been involved, I just presumed off of the WaA4. I won't say I'm an expert, of course, my field is more so Communist Bloc items. If it is a troop repair, I guess this would put it into a more unique rifle. While not 100%...
