Decided to pull up legacy’s website and see what just how ridiculous his prices are as of late and sure enough it did not disappoint. I find the 95% rating to be the icing on the cake for this. Each time I check legacy’s website I get more and more convinced that those videos of him smoking ww2 cigarettes must’ve had some crack sprinkled in with them.

I think he’s spot on at -95%. Now, $1,850 for a negative ninety five percent gun is a little, well….way too much.

How about this outstanding -98% gem of a unit?

I guess the real inventory, behind the scenes stuff, is only for the $35 dollar a month club you have to belong to. Us shlubs get this stuff to pick from.

I didn’t know they had a “inner circle” buyers club lmao. Even then I doubt any real bargain is to be found there. The one thing that pisses me off about legacy the most (well one of many) is for how great of pics they take they can’t be bothered to take pictures of the bore. Let’s just say I have firsthand experience with that grading system of theirs. I learned their 7/10 bore is more like seven tenths of one tenth.

I'm sorry... Legacy actually has a members only store where you have to pay money to even view, let alone purchase, the inventory?

God damn does Tom absolutely LOVE money... That's even better than how Tom has a Patreon account for his Youtube channel, so people can effectively donate to his own ad campaign.

It’s called being a VIP member. He talks about it in one of his videos where it’s “not for everyone” and it’s only for those that buy large quantities of firearms, primarily for the free shipping. So, you pay your $29.99 bucks a month and you are lumped in with others that do the same and all of them get a preview first of the stuff about to be released. They pick over the newest things to come in and we non-payers get the rest to pick over….rather us shlubs do. So, for $29.99 bucks a month your fellow hunters gets dwindled down a little more, but that still doesn’t guarantee you’ll see a great gun and be able to get it. The others that pay their $29.99 a month get the same privilege and you might not be quick enough to get it. That kind of makes me nauseous about the whole thing. I do like that they will take returns (within 7 days) with no hassle in case it’s just not what you wanted. But, I‘m not into this left overs crap. And, this weird condition grading system of saying pitted out stuff is -98% or better…..(?)….is just weird.

Personally, I think he needs to take a step back a little, stop the pay system to get first hand dibs on the better stuff and get rid of whoever is grading this stuff by condition. The price tags are a little higher than normal too on things. But, I’m not running the show, so okay….whatever.

Yeah, (buy now price) $8,766.00 for that pile of crap! Gunbroker, go figure.

I think our hobby has completely lost itself somewhere down the line.

Correction: It’s not $35 per month, it’s $29.99 per month and it’s called being a VIP member (I corrected my post where I incorrectly thought it was $35 a month and couldn’t recall what this level of membership was).

wow, if that’s a “98%” HSc, mine must be a +140% er! ( & it isn’t “perfect”)

the membership thing is typical of many retailers today, who here is an amazon prime member? lots of folks who really shouldn’t be buying junk online because they really can’t afford it, but “the free shipping”! so they buy stuff they don’t need……..
Sportsmans guide, target sports usa, even as an annual fee, it encourages buying stuff just for “the deal” !
Dont get me wrong, I love getting a “deal” too, just not paying for the ‘privilege’ of doing business with someone, rather than for the goods/services rendered.

And another one at -97%. Someone’s gotta say something to them that this isn’t 97%. I know this stuff is subjective but dang…..

It isn’t even subjective he deals in high end guns all the time he knows exactly what a true 97% gun is. I suspect his YouTube videos has drawn in a bunch of redditors who take everything he says as gospel and therefor can’t use critical thinking to judge if they got a good deal or not.

To say the least, I guess in my experience, Legacy lowballs and will do so, even on high-end guns. Especially when you compare it to other auctions, websites, or even Gunbroker listings.

Let's just say he appraised one of my guns at... 1/4 the value of what it is. Just appraising. Then a horrid lowball at 1/2 the cost of that.

It made me suspect that Legacy lowballs and appraises low to get guns at a really low rate from people who have no idea what they have. It honestly disappointed me lol.

Maybe he hired some ex RTI booger picker to come rate condition.

From my experience, whoever operates Legacy appraises a lot of the time. At least on pistols.
