Thanks for the comment and yes I came here to see what it was worth in USD - it has value for me that's not monetary.

    Battle of the western front

.....this is incredible I've never seen this footage. Ernst Junger is a legitimate Hero to me; I equate him with Ajax the Lesser out of The Iliad. This footage is like a shaft of light penetrating a chasm, illuminating his experience.

    SSZZA4 bnz.43

My only K98 is a soviet capture SS zza4, bought it from my neighbor and shot it today for the first time. Guys on this forum were amazing telling me what it was and being helpful. If the rifle brings you joy, then that's all that counts. Congrats.

First shots through my SS ZZA4 Soviet Capture

Damn that was awesome. 81 year old rifle (the barrel and action at least). Cleaned the bore, put on safety glasses and sent 10 rounds of Sellier & Beliot (sp) down the pipe. Steel butt plate gives your shoulder a sweet kiss saying "This rifle was used by men...to kill men." I was pleasantly...

    45 CRS in the post-economics, post-factual world

it's unreal how fraudulent everything is, I got one RC K98, I love it, decided I'd like another, and two weeks into looking for another one I just gave up and said "eff it." If you're really into collecting it's got to be exhausting wading through the lies and scam artists. So my collection...

    45 CRS in the post-economics, post-factual world

yeah the provenance on this had zero risk - sat in my oblivious, 80 year old neighbor's closet for 20 years, he got it from his uncle, I doubt it had ever been sold - I was oblivious when I got it, I just wanted the rifle

5170 Andy. Thanks as always, I just wondered what this thing is worth after owning it for almost 3 years now. We live in insane times; economically and everything else.

I stumbled into this bayonet, Andy, Slash, others all helped me learn what it is. I stalked the internet for the past year like Ursula von der Leyen stalking economies to destroy, looking for updates, seeing if one sold for $30k yet so I can buy a SIG PE57 or a Soviet capture K98. I digress...

Mauser 8 mm ammo - US made

Yeah black bear, Midway has 196gr Sellier, Bellot ammo and it looks like it'll work. I don't reload so that limits me. The rifling and bore on this K98 is really nice, I need to take a bear with this thing, lol.

Mauser 8 mm ammo - US made

Agree and I hope I didn't sound reckless, but I know where two boars are denned, like right now as I type this, and I think if I ski in there for the opener and limit myself to 60 yards I can kill one. When I killed my elk the one boar ate the gut pile and I followed him to where he denned. I...

value estimate, Soviet capture bnz43, thank you in advance

Thanks for your input. I read Ernst Junger's 'Storm of Steel' years ago and was always fascinated with WW1, but I am a meat hunter/sportsman and never had an interest in collecting anything. When my buddy pulled this out of a towel I just thought it was a bad-a$$ rifle and told him I wanted...

45 crs bayonet value? Thank you in advance.

Since last Thursday, thanks to 'Slash', I've learned alot about this bayonet. I searched it online just trying to see what it's worth (out of curiosity) and virtually nothing comes up. I can't even imagine the conditions it was manufactured under. Thanks to all on this board who generously...
