    1917 WMO "a" Block

Good pickup & cleanup on it Chris. I've got it's twin, as I recall in the "v" block, but don't remember if walnut or beech. I'll post it sometime soon...

Jordan showed me this one at the show. An excellent pickup is an understatement...

Gew 98 Cleaning Rod - Question

There's no way to determine who made it. It's a correct Gew98 rod, #'d to a gewehr, but so heavily cleaned/buffed that the inspection mark on the shaft is now gone....

    1910 Danzig K98a warhorse

Danny, maybe Jeff Noll or some of our knowledgeable European collectors can help on the unit marking. It's Garde Train but unsure on the "F" or "E". On the tag, I faintly remember doing that on a few rifles 15-20 years ago. What's on it, my name & a date?

    Gewehr 98 Waffenwerke Oberspree Kornbusch 1915 6731

Thanks for all the kind words. Meeting collectors that enjoy these gewehrs was the highlight of the show, seeing smiles as they pulled them out of the gun socks & handled them, & accepting their new caretaker roles. For some that might not know, Paul is an old jarhead too. Oorah!

    Gewehr 98 Waffenwerke Oberspree Kornbusch 1915 6731

I originally thought the front sight not being #d was a manufacturing startup error, but another possibility relates to the repair depot #4 on the buttplate. It's possible that front sight was damaged/replaced & besides having to re-sight it in was overlooked to renumber it. The rear slider tabs...

    Imperial 2022 SOS show report

I got to put names to faces in Louisville which was really great. The sad part is every year there's less & less Gew98's at the SOS. I had more in my truck than were at the show, lol.

The adoption process went well this past month, lot's of new caretakers that appreciate these unique gewehrs.

    Gewehr 98 Muzzle Covers

Here's an interesting Gew98 muzzle cover, previously Kaiserliche-Marine, II. MatrosenArtillerie-Abteilung 100 (lined out). The lid exhibits a Weimar naval marking, Nordsee 1548. Two inspection marks are visible, the spring has a "U" that's faint & won't photograph with my phone.

    1910 Danzig K98a warhorse

This one is a very used, been there warhorse. I pulled it out last week & found some pics, found a lot more this morning. Originally regimental marked to a Garde Train unit (G.T.F.3.19), on the buttplate, the muzzle cover is unit marked 3.87, with an original sling unit marked on the frosch...
