Can anyone tell me what this is

What makes you think it has anything to do with WW2 German Militaria?

    Interesting unit markings

Thanks, I'd completely forgot about that gewehr/unit marking from earlier this year. I revised the description to the current best guess.

    1918 Mauser Tankgewehr

What a beast! Congrats on the pickup. I'll assume you wont be attempting to shoot it with that m/m bolt, lol

    Matching 1915 CGH War Horse

Great pickup! We do love a good warhorse. Decent matching Haenel's are tough to find, much less a 1915 one. In my experience the walnut stock markings stay pretty distinct unless sanded or subjected to moisture/water, I would go with the latter on yours. Is the rod an armorer's?

    1914/15 Dresden "Sterngewehr"

That's a neat & interesting gewehr for sure. Any other peening areas besides the receiver, floorplate, & trigger guard assembly? I've not seen a sterngewehr without a serial # suffix #.

    Danzig 1915 Aquisition

Is there an acceptance marking on the stock disk?

    G98 Rear sight accuracy/issue

That is correct, this sight picture wouldn't be adequate for accurate bench rest shooting. A 100 + years ago the German military utilized this (or some similar sighting method) for the G98 rifle for war, at targets much different than paint buckets.

    G98 Rear sight accuracy/issue

Here's an easy fix, the credit goes to MauserBill for his illustration from years ago:

    Kar98a price check

How can this be, lol. This notorious seller advertised it as all matching. I'm sure it also left the Danzig arsenal 1912 with the non-serial #d handguard.

Novice needing info...Spandau Gew 98 stock disc.

Here's one of mine, a 1915 Spandau with KM marked disk, with no other KM markings. I'll only post the one pic of it, to not hijack the Op's post, & will post other pics in a new thread. The Op's KM unit marking looked familiar, so I looked through some of my bayos & look what I found:

    Karabinerriemen dated 1928 K98b?

Since it's not stretched, just a little over 3 inches longer than a K98a sling, & with that date, most likely it's a K98b sling. Nice, rare sling.

    Danzig 1905

That's a warhorse for sure, great pickup. Has the disk been flipped?
