Quick late war Radom P35 question

Make a long story short - I sold this Vis35 a couple months ago and the buyer just contacted me stating the recoil guide rod had the ears broken off. This is from a “D” block (second letter series) pistol. I never noticed it had a problem and am wondering if this was an oversight on my part, or...

Oberndorf hand stamp BYF 44 NLB w/ CE43 receiver

Gentlemen, Here is a diverted receiver assembled by MO. Essentially a NLB BYF44. The unpolished Sauer receiver is cool, as is the tiger striped walnut, factory error SN on handguard, and the SN itself is pretty cool. Barrel code is 43R135, can’t remember the manufacturer off the top of my...

    MAS-36 (Humped Gew 242f)

Posting this for posterity sake. Spotted at Collector's Firearms in Houston for a cool $2500. I wouldn't expect these to be WaA'ed but what do I know. https://www.collectorsfirearms.com/products/204224-german-gewehr-242f-bolt-action-rifle-75-french-r42361.html

    Completely unmarked canteen (VerBliFa M42?)

Had this for several years and never thought much of it having no markings anywhere. Started getting curious and learned about some examples made in the Netherlands with no markings. fjm44.com has one listed that sounds similar but the cup is not painted as this one is. Any ideas? I really don't...

1917 Amberg Gew98m (EWB) with wild duffle cut repair

Howdy, I suppose this one could go in any of the Mauser sections but Weimar seemed most appropriate. I believe this is the original stock, but not 100%. The bolt is mismatched and the rear sight components are 3R 3/63 marked. The rear capture screw is also e/63. The duffle cut repair is one of...

    Steaming Hot BYF44 Gunbroker Turd

I love it when the humpsters don’t study numbering conventions. Or any conventions at all for that matter. 🤪

    Corrosion or tooling error?

Picked it up cheap due to “old pitting” on the front strap, but I’m not totally convinced. Anyone seen something like this?

Heavily marked 1914/1920 Erfurt District Schutzpolizei Luger

Very happy to contribute to this very interesting sub-forum. Recently snagged this police Luger with several unit markings. Looks like this one got around like a cheap hooker. Overall in really nice shape; matched except for the right grip panel and the firing pin (which I’m guessing is...

    Salty JPS CE41

I had been looking for a nice JPS for a while…and well, this one IS a JPS but not exactly the belle of the ball. Interestingly this is the first K98 I’ve ever located in the wild, at Bass Pro of all places. On the tag it said “parts gun, $450”. The supervisor asked me if I was going to take...

P35, Late war blued K block

Here’s a recent pick up. Most late K blocks are phosphate. Wish this one had been stored better. I gently cleaned off some surface rust. There’s some unfortunate freckling on the slide and grip, but couldn’t pass up a blued K block for the price. Fit and build quality leave much to be desired...

Phosphate BYF44 “a” block barreled action picked up by notorious flipper

Thought this one was interesting, firstly because I though phosphate showed up around the L block, and secondly because the winning bidder will surely have this back up soon rebranded as an “all matching rare late war nazi rifle”. I was personally burned by Januszek in my early days of...

Like New Gusen SS Contract BNZ43

Here’s some detailed shots of the new Steyr. Pretty typical of SS contract production, unusually good condition. Aside from a bruise on the front barrel band, and the (sort of) repaired duffle cut, I really can’t find anything wrong with it! “Circle V7” located under receiver. Also found an...

    SS Contract duffle cut repair

Some of y’all may have spotted the BNZ 43 on the latest list of new arrivals from Dennis Kroh. Well I brought it home today and it’s an absolute beauty. Full photo spread coming later when the weather wants to cooperate. In the meantime, I wanted to get opinions on this duffle cut repair that...

    Punch marked bolt handle flats

I’ve seen a few of these, particularly from one seller on fleabay who claims they are “rack numbers for a service academy” on otherwise matching bolts/rifles. This Oberndorf bolt showed up on a bolt MM BCD43 q block. Just curious if there’s some significance. The bolt flat has obviously been...

    Laminate BNZ45 T-block

Seen quite a few of these pop up lately, most in walnut. It’s a bolt MM, but I was shocked to find it in the wild. Any help on ID’ing the bolt body, I think it’s e/823? Rear band may have never had a screw through it, the wood seems un-disturbed, not sure. There was no sight hood on it when I...

How does the phosphate look on this late CZ-27?

Never seen it this....green? I’m really beginning to like this ugly late war stuff, and may go look at this one. Cool straw colored screws and unmarked grips. Have one other, an early high polish blued example. I think having two on opposite ends of the spectrum would be cool.

Supposed SS-Wa1 large trigger guard BNZ4

Just got off the phone with the gentleman who has this listed on GB. God bless his elderly heart, but he believes there is absolutely nothing wrong with this rifle. SS-Wa1 was only used on MP35’s IIRC. That said, the trigger guard may be off a different rifle. But then there are other glaring...

Show and tell (E Pack & Sohne)

I don’t really do 3R bayonets for some reason, but I picked up what I guess would be my first “nice” K98k blade on a whim.

    Anyone recognize these prints?

Forgive the glare, these are laminated. They appear to have come from a set based on the numbering. Was wondering if anyone knew where they came from. I got them with a large box of 3R paper items, they’re approx 14”x19”.
