    S/27 1937 value

If the bore is nice, and that bolt is matching to the barreled receiver…. It’s a $600+ gun as is all day long. The stock can possibly be saved (if it’s the original) with donor materials. We need more pics. I’ve seen way worse be fixed to be respectable… Complete matching to themselves bolts...

    help ID?

IMO, simply just not enough info to go with at the moment to make a truly accurate assessment. This much which is obvious. It’s not an original 1940 JP Sauer as would have left the factory. That’s 100%. I personally may entertain the idea towards the depot rework as mentioned above by others...

    dou 44 matching

Beautiful! Love the trademark Brunn II dark bluing. The tiny firing proof on the bolt ball is really cool. Very nice pickup. These occupied Czechoslovakian manufactured rifles are generally really excellent rifles in terms of fit, finish, accuracy and quality. Congrats on your newest addition!

Ouch, those buyers premiums/auction fees can be brutal. This is a perfect example. Somebody is going to get royally taken.

Byf45 zf41 KM Sniper? Marksman? New addition 😆 (pic heavy)

Yup, you win some and also lose some. A by44 in my possession comes to mind that I got years ago on GB. Terrible pics and description that was done by an 12 year old. Took the chance, got it for cheap but I turn my head away when I walk next to it. It has a mint bore and shoots amazing which are...

The white paint trick. I despise that crap…

Bruce, just curious… did you sell it with the white paint in the markings/serials?

The auction had 3 pics total, only of which one showed any detail. Shout out and thanks to @bruce98k for taking a look to put me at some ease. It was a risk though, but I suppose it paid off. Final hammer was under 1k.

and the white crap in there to give it that “old collection” look.

Unfortunately bolt doesn’t match the rifle, but matching to itself. Really late Mauser Oberndorf, no rib b block.

More pics You guys know I’m a JP Sauer lover and finding this trigger really made my day. Barrel code pics for the barrel research aficionados.

Hey guys. Just wanted to share what I recently picked up on auction. For the price I couldn’t pass it up even though it’s a bolt mismatch. Stock was probably cleaned at some point. Mirror bore, mint. Came with a decent sling as well. Tried my best with my iPhone, but my lighting has a lot to be...

Info wanted on 44 BYF 98k

Jeff Walmsley does amazing work. I think you would need a donor stock first though.

Info wanted on 44 BYF 98k

The stock was “sported” and in this case was cut down shorter, front end sanded, takedown discs were removed and “filled” and the sling cutout as well. In other words, this is not the way it left the Mauser Oberndorf factory. It’s done post war by one of its owners who made it into a hunting...

Barn Find: Steyr VG5, saved from being scrapped

Wow very cool! Mind sharing what the shop wanted for this piece of scrap, lol?

Info wanted on 44 BYF 98k

All-matching metal and you have the matching front band. Nothing faked. Numbers are legit. It’s just been “sported”. If the stock can’t be saved with some donor pieces and fine stock work…. Finding a replacement correct manufacturer “E/135” Mauser Oberndorf stock shouldn’t be too hard. It won’t...
