Does anyone else see faint markings under the final? Looks as if could be “bcd and numbers”. Also some numbers to the left of the final…. Better pictures in focus would help.

Looks like a reclaimed receiver to me, but reclaimed by who? What you show is not a K98k, judging by the wood just forward of the receiver. You really need to post many more pictures so it can be determined what you have

You don’t show why you think you need a different stock. What you DO show appears to be some type of wood filler in the takedown disc and sling well. Had a stock like that once and took about 5 minutes to remove the filler.

If you were cleaning your rifle indoors, that part didn’t go far. Try a strong magnet being careful to cover the area 3-4 feet in every direction from where you were cleaning. Good luck!
