100% correct, original, and matching gun. Some mild rash on top of receiver and barrel. Otherwise excellent condition. Late transitional stock that is not drilled for cleaning rod as is correct for this series. Clearly un-messed with stock with sharp e/H final proof and 'dot' on heel and...

Condition of that one looks like you took it straight off the factory racks! It's also the earliest dot44 with a skm stock that I have on my list.

Too cool. You can get the bakelite fuse holders for them as well. To use when not entertaining.

The stock, hand guard, both bands, and the triggerguard would also have been serialed numbered to match. Stock and hand guard numbered on the inside channels. It's most likely that the stock and bands were replaced after the war. At any rate, I suggest not sanding the stock for any reason...

Hard to say with the pictures that are available, but at first my thought was a reblue. But after looking at the pics further, I think some oil, bronze wool, and different lighting can give us the metal appearance that the 'after' pics show. So now I'm thinking no on reblue. Which is even more...

Nice gun, DK. The latest 5 digit I have is around 92000 and also has graduation on rear sight leaf bottom.....s/42 I think. Most interesting part of your gun is the overstamped bolt flat. Haven't seen that before.

dang, I don't remember that gun looking that nice when I saw it. Maybe it was because that room didnt get much daylight or maybe because there were 50 other guns lying around. Are there armorer stocks without the 'dot' on the bottom?

I wouldn't mind collecting that stuff just havent had the time to actively seek anything out. Just have the two 99's that fell into my lap. btw. at the moment I have a dou44 with a FN bolt that you may recognize. :thumbsup:

Thanks. I've seen 'acid free' paper and plastic designated for 'archival storage' but I have no knowledge if those are helpful or harmful. I've just been keeping papers away from light and high humidity.
