1890 Danzig Gew 88

Finding a mostly matching Gew 88 has been a chore in my experience. A good friend met up w/ me last week & brought this up as a surprise. Bolt head & rear sight slider are mismatched but all other parts are matching. No unit marks unfortunately but that’s the way she goes. Buttplate has a “16” depot marking. Based on the depot marking & MM bolt head I’d say this one is a true Great War vet & not a South American import. Photos attached.

Looks great Marc! Thanks for posting this one up! Is the firing pin clipped by chance? I sometimes see that in conjunction with a missing /mm bolt head. Thanks for taking the extra effort to remove the shroud too!
