Hi guys,

I photo'ed this one the other day and wanted to get it up for the reference. There aren't many of these floating out there (Cyrus scored gold last year with a mostly matching one), and only 2-3 documented with factory stocks.

This one was floating on Legacy of all places and had a "used" Spandau armorer bolt with a turk SN on it. I happened to have a depot Amberg bolt with a SN pretty close (4755 vs 4570) in my box o' bolts, so it was a great substitution.

The rifle is a straight up bolt mm (excepting the rear sight leaf and rod). The condition is pretty much untouched and what you'd expect for a closet gun-- lovely unbuggered screws too. There is a Maintz (6) depot mark on the buttplate.

Nice one Chris. Love that untouched barrel bluing under the woodline. Surprising that this one came from Legacy. They tend to be wildly inconsistent with their non-WW2 stuff.

Thanks for getting the photos, Chris, i added it to the reference.

I was thrilled to see this one in detail. It's great to be able to compare mine to another so close. What immediately stands out is the wrist; i thought c/G on mine was the rework acceptance, but yours is c/G, so c/J must be the rework. And your bands are typical for Amberg, whereas mine are c/W and likely also from the rework.

I digress, but anyway it's great to have another Amberg 1912 in the family!
