1939 Mundlos S84/98 sold on fleabay for decent $$$

Interesting is because matching and rejected from older production probably that is the reason of star marking on pommel, is not for VoPo or postwar.

Andrej is correct. The "star" or "flower" stamp is a rejection mark used by Mundlos. Occasionally seen on pieces that were initially rejected and returned for finishing at a later time. Nice piece .....

Thank you, Andy and Slash, for the information on that proof mark! So tell me, when will you both be co-authoring and publishing a comprehensive book on the S84/98 bayonet?? We could all certainly use one to go with our Bruce and Mike's K98 books. :) Thank you again, gentlemen!

Most of the questions asked about bayonets by members, new and old, have been answered several times over. The "book" is in the posts presented here by several forum members. There are bayonet gods though like Slash, Andy, and Pwcosol to name three, that are more than willing to share their knowledge without putting it into book form and charging you for it.

Hey Slash, ready to post that extra-long Ks98 dress bayonet yet? lol

Grimlin, I agree completely, I simply meant a book would honor, share, and preserve their life's work, and I would never look at it as being charged for this. My respect is intended for all here. I truly appreciate this site.
