1943 CE Restoration project

OK, well, here goes. This is my prize restoration project , a CE 43 (JP Sauer & Sohn). I'll attach pics and such, but since it's really just a combination of two rifles, I'll post pics accordingly.

(The metal, barreled action and bolt, all match. The stock is a JP S&S stock that matches the hand guard as well as the rear/lower barrel band. it's like a combo of two matching rifles.

the only thing that suxxors me up is the recoil lug. it's an Oberndorf "f" marked one, and it's never seen any battle.

EDIT: oh , and yeah, the band spring. too dark. it's legit (WaA 655), but, not appropos.

I guess these things are hard to finish for good, as I'll always be looking to replace those 2 parts I'm not comfortable with.

after seeing the pics here (an all-matching CE 43 offered by a board member on the Trader), I was even more content with the project!
