Looks like a very nice serial number, the frog is anywhere stamped on backside? frog maker Gustav Sudbrack Bielefeld 1941 probably. b.r.Andy

As Andy mentioned, really like that serial number! I have a 42ffc # 9b and don't think I have ever seen more than one or two other S84/98 T3s with single-digit serials. Unfortunately my bayonet came in a T2 scabbard which was utilized elsewhere, so have looked for something suitable ever since to replace it with.

I agree, what a cool serial number. The next serial number would be 1B right?

Yes, in this case it could be either "0001 b" or "1b"...may depend on what type of stamping equipment (manual or automatic) the manufacturer may have been using to apply the serial numbers.

Love the 41 Diamante bayonets... I have matching # 5160a , though mine was used as a "hammer" at some point and the end is all beat up so the bayo lug button will not depress now. Blade was sharpened too but I love the code. Paid $25 for it as it sits. The frog has an unusual marking I have never seen before that looks simply like this.......... A(8) .... that's it.

mow.
