This is the first acs Police 84/98 bayonet I ever found about 35 years ago, nice condition, *F marked on the spine with a frog that had two holes in it from being nailed to a board or something, I was going through my bayonets recently and decided take the frog off as it was starting to fall apart. I was surprised when I saw the serial number 7364 on the backside of the scabbard, curiosity got the best of me and I took the grips off and found the grips were numbered as was the flash guard and the release button assembly, there was other stamps on the area under the grips and an early WaA253, thought it was unusual so I wanted to share with everyone.

Congratulation, looks like a nice early police ACS possible 37/8 dating, forging used from a WaA proofed contract, which is normal on early pieces. obvious the serial number is not on scabbard placed, sometimes its on ricasso or crossguard, evidently the bayonet is matching piece in all parts. b.r.Andy
