Action smoother than another rifle

Hello!

I have a VZ.24 and a Yugo M24/47 in my possession... I really love the Yugo now that I've gotten some aftermarket Mojo sights for it, but I'm curious if anyone has suggestions as to why the action of the Yugo is scratchy/rough compared to the VZ.24's buttery smooth action... Is it just something that will wear in with use (The VZ.24 is in a lot rougher shape, and probably was used a lot more seeing as it was backbored and the wood is roughed up... Wheras my M24/47 seems like it was hardly used), or are there significant quality differences between the two?

My gunsmith commented that the VZ.24 is a much higher quality firearm to the Yugo, but I'd like to hear if you have any other suggestions/opinions.

Could be grit in the action if it's got some old cosmolene in the lug recesses, but besides that, yeah pre-war manufacturing from a good factory is generally better. Pre-war Oberndorfs are similar, while a late war BNZ can be pretty rough.

My RC 1936 S/237 has a smoother action than my Norwegian surrender and ex-Norwegian Navy 1940 243 (so still original 7.92x57) and both are bolt M/M.
