...forgive my question, but a Mauser 86 SR is also a post-1945 Mauser rifle, and since I'm unfortunately from Germany, I'm curious if there's a collector's market for it in America?

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any listings on Gunbroker. So, it seems there isn't much demand for a Mauser 86SR in the US.

it may be that if it wasn’t imported here, & no US military/police agencies used it, that it is simply not known here, thus no demand. Could be also that it falls into the ‘grey zone’ where it isn’t old enough to be ‘historic’ & not new enough to be the ‘next best thing’. I couldn’t find anything on the net without having to create accounts or sign in a site.
