Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen
I order 8MM Mauser PPU (.318) and instead I received 8x57 IS PPU (.323), can I safely fire this out of my Mauser or not? Thank you and have a blessed day.

What Mauser do you have? All German issue 98s were made with .323" grooves. The common military 98s made in other countries are .323", but just saying "Mauser" is pretty broad.
Why did you order .318" ammunition?

I personally wouldn’t be shooting that anyways. Too many risks of damage. Get a ratty mm to shoot. Haha

But the 318 is from some early guns, like pre ww1 I believe. I would never chamber something that isn’t correct.

Before shooting a gun should be inspected exactly the bolt head, chamber and twist of barell, same as possible damages inside of twist or muzzle areas, dents on barell outside and similar areas, should be looked for correct fireproofs, even possible postwar reproofs, then a proper ammunition should be used. A old not properly designate army ammunition with unknown type of projectile could cause problems. There exist measerument cylinders for twist of barell.
