Anyone Heard From Don Miller Recently?

When I sent my ZF4 to him he said it wasn't received (!) which started me on an urgent follow-up with USPS. The local postmaster forwarded to me the GPS record of the delivery point. That led to a second inspection and he found it in the back of his mailbox.

Yeah it's a mystery, and not necessarily in a good way. I have a AGA that is a little stiff. I don't know if he works on Swedish scopes, but probably I hang onto it and be glad for the excellent work already in the bag.

I don't have a problem at all with the time span for repairs. Quality takes time; I fully understand that and even expect it. The only reason I wrote at all was that I was never given an estimate despite being told I would receive one. Not receiving one, I became curious as to whether or not work had begun. Now, when I was given a price, it was MUCH lower than expected so I was very happy about that. The reason for my impatience at this moment is the fact that it was finished and ready for shipping last month, I was given a planned ship date, it still hasn't shipped, and I have been given no new date for when it will ship. Essentially, I'm in limbo. One of my professions is as a realtor so I'm hyper on the ball about communication. I also sell things online and again, I fall over myself to keep the customer informed. I don't think I'm asking too much here but perhaps I'm incorrect. Anyway, I won't post about it anymore and I guess I just have to wait until Don feels like shipping it out.
Based on your sitrep, I would contact him by email or call for a update. IMHO you would not be asking too much in this regards. I do not believe your optic is sitting repaired, ready to ship and delayed only because he doesn't feel like shipping it out. Lastly, some optics work gets expedited because the repair(s) can be accomplished relatively quickly and may not require spares (for example lens cleaning), etc.

Hey All, After about 4 phone messages and numerous emails, Don sent me an email yesterday promising to send my scope back. We'll see if it shows up... He has had my scope for a few weeks short of a year.... Oh, and it can't be fixed completely. Hope it shows up before the SOS....

Yeah i was gonna send him mine (it doesn’t have crosswire) but I’d rather just pull the trigger and buy a replacement scope for just the housing. Sucks but that’s the game

Well I received a tracking number from Don today! My scope is on the way back. In our correspondence I mentioned some concern from others about the length of turn around time for items. He again mentioned that there is a great delema resourcing parts. Another big delay is rusty and corroded parts. He has some projects soaking to break them free. If too much pressure is applied, the tube may collapse. If a scope has no visible reticle, a donor will be needed. He also mentioned that his internet in the area is down, and he will be responding to requests as soon as able. Nice guy with some challenging projects. He appreciates the patience. I would recommend checking in occasionally to see the status of your project. Hope this helps guys!

Hey everyone,

I emailed Don recently about a ZF4 and haven’t heard a word back and figured I’d try again after the new year. Before I bug him again though has anyone heard from him recently?

Thanks!
