asw commercial

First post on the forum. I have a recently purchased SG84/98 that came in a late war "bread bag" frog and is marked with the asw scales logo and text "Alcoso Soligen". Those are the only markings on the blade and none on the scabbard. I do not have pics but the dealer I bought it from still has it on his web site with pics. Here is the link. Scroll down to item BC 124. Frog is mis-identified as a "Tropical Dress Frog" which I do not believe existed.

asw

I got a call from a guy who picked up a late commercial and said it only had asw on it. After further discussion, it has the scales logo and hence is a known variation as opposed to one with only "asw" stamped. Thanks for the post Russ, welcome!

asw is letter code for Hoerster, he could have a asw 40 piece, but it should be normal WaA proofed, in case a commerzial is more real is a AWS stamp with scales.b.r.A.

Here is an example of the late war Alcoso commercial being discussed. (not asw)
